Chimps’ Nest is set against a stunning backdrop of Kibale Forest and the snow-capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains beyond, our small-scaled lodge Chimps’ Nest fits right into its natural environment, located on the border with the National Park far away from any traffic or village noises.

You won’t find luxury here but our comfortable, very private and cozy cottages have an outdoor shower, wash basin and flush toilet with ample hot and cold water. If you are looking for adventure, pure nature, tranquility, privacy and stunning views you will love Chimps’ Nest!

The lodge is only 15 minutes from Kanyanchu, the starting point of UWA chimp-tracking and other activities in Kibale Forest. Chimps’ Nest also borders the Magombe Swamps and is an excellent starting point for day trips to the crater lakes, Semuliki National Park, Semliki Wildlife Reserve and the Rwenzori Mountains.

Our main building holds our restaurant that serves tasteful international meals in a warm and inviting environment, where you can enjoy our friendly service and free but limited internet. There is also a bar, lounge and craft shop.

All cottages, family cottage and budget rooms are self-contained and positioned to guarantee optimal privacy. From your balcony you can enjoy the wildlife and the magnificent view of Kibale Forest, with the surrounding sounds of birds, monkeys, chimps and elephants.

Explore our private walking trails through the forest with our guide during the day or at night. Chimps’ Nest is a true birder’s paradise; virtually all 350 bird species of Kibale Forest and the bordering Bigodi Swamps can be observed on the premises. At night there are high chances of spotting bush babies, pottos and other nocturnal animals.
