Ishasha Ntungwe Tree Lion Safari Lodge is designed to exert minimal impact on the environment the lodge is expertly positioned overlooking queen Elizabeth National park and Ntungwe River, set alongside an elephant track for some casual game viewing.

We have two Dinings, the most popular being the river side sitting set opposite a family of Colobus Monkeys across Ntungwe river that are sure to keep you entertained as you enjoy our wide assortment of freshly prepared food.

Our Banda’s and Chalet are set apart complete with private viewing decks that offer private sanctuary to relax and absorb the sights and sounds after a grueling safari complete with en-suite bathrooms, solar lighting and solar heated running water.

There are also camping facilities if you’d like to bring your own tent, the special area provides communal toilet and bathing facilities.

The main area of camp consists of a comfortable restaurant and bar area complete with fire place.

Activities

Game drives
Early morning game drives in pursuit of Ishasha’s most famous residents, the tree lions in action before they climb the fig trees for the rest of the day. If lucky catch a glimpse of the elusive leopard and or the rare white elephants bath and play at the watering hole nothing like a safari in Ishasha sector. Night Safaris can be organized as well as camping next to the hippopotamus watering hole.

Bird watching
For birding enthusiasts, Ishasha sector is one of few places in the world you might see the rare shoebill and crested crane along the Lake Edward flats. Ishasha sector is a birders paradise with over 500 different bird species. The magnificent fishing eagle making fishing raids along the Ntungwe River to mention but a few. .

Nature walks
Make leisurely guided walks within the grounds along our nature trails, taking stoke of the various sights and sounds that Ishasha has to offer. When time allows walk to the nearest trading center in Kameme to have a glimpse of the people, the Tree lion’s immediate neighbors.

Conservation
Through our community engagement in line with our Conservation efforts the Kameme community is supported through various activities. Kameme dance troop is on hand to entertain our guests with folk songs that depict their experiences and relationship with the wild animals. Proceeds from donations are supplemented to purchase scholastic materials. Guests are encouraged to plant a tree as a parting gift to in a bid to reduce their carbon foot print.
